Forge are back in the win column in the Canadian Premier League once again, as they defeated Pacific FC 1-0 at Starlight Stadium on Saturday, with a late Hoce Massunda banger powering them to their first league win since April 12th.

As a result, they've extended their undefeated run to seven games to kick off 2025, now up to three wins and four draws, having also snapped a run of four straight draws with this victory.

Despite Forge's strong ending, Pacific came storming out of the gates in the second minute. After a perfect cross from Marco Bustos, he found Emanuel Montejano right inside the box, but his shot would be saved by the fingertips of Forge's goalkeeper, Jassem Koleilat.

From there, however, the game would slow down, as both teams settled into a rhythm. As a result, the next chance didn't come until the 37th minute, where Kyle Bekker nearly curled a corner right into the net, forcing a good save out of Pacific's Max Anchor to palm it away.

Then, they had an even better chance off a set-piece to end the half, as Kyle Bekker found Nana Ampomah with a nice pass into the box on a free kick, but Ampomah's low shot would slide just wide of the Pacific goal.

On the other side of half time, Ampomah had another great chance in the 51st minute, as he cut inside and fired a dangerous strike on his left foot, forcing a nice block out of Pacific's Aly Ndom.

Soon after, Pacific had a great look of their own in the 60th minute, as Kadin Chung whipped in a perfect cross, finding Josh Heard in the middle of the box, but he sent his header just wide of the post.

Continuing a strong second half, Chung whipped in another dangerous ball in the 77th minute, finding Yann Toualy at the back post, but Toualy's shot flew well wide of the goal.

Meanwhile, at the other end, Forge had a good look in the 84th minute, as a dangerous Ampomah cross found a wide-open Mo Babouli at the back post, but he'd sent his shot right at Anchor.

Eventually, however, Forge found a breakthrough in the 89th minute. After the ball fell to Hoce Massunda at the edge of the box, he did well to collect himself before firing a shot, finding the top corner with a beautiful strike for his first professional goal.

From there, his team would do what they needed to to hang on, allowing them to pick up a crucial road victory.
