REACTION + HIGHLIGHTS: CanWNT 🇨🇦 vs. Denmark🇩🇰 | International Friendly (Oct 9, 2026)

Highlights

Olivia Smith was the hero for the CanWNT as they rescued a late 1-1 draw vs. Denmark at Stade Saputo on Friday. Here are your highlights from that one, as well as some reaction from on the ground in Montréal.

Olivia Smith was the hero for the CanWNT on Friday, as she scored a late equalizer to help her side rescue a 1-1 draw against Denmark at Stade Saputo.

After giving up a frustrating goal in the first half, as Pernille Harder capitalized after a Canadian turnover in midfield, Canada did well to push for an equalizer in the second half.

Eventually, it was Smith, who came onto the field at half-time, who would find that goal, helping her side capitalize on a run of dangerous chances. It started with a nice pass from Julia Grosso, and Smith did the rest from there, dancing into the box and firing home with her left foot to tie the game.

As part of their agreement, both teams decided to have a shootout after the match to settle the draw, with Canada winning 4-2 on spot kicks. It won't count on their record as a victory, but they'll certainly mark it down as a moral win after a good performance.

Here are your highlights from this one.
