CanWNT 🇨🇦 to host Denmark 🇩🇰 in Montréal and Toronto this October

Canada NT
Canada returns home for a pair of matches against Denmark in Montréal & Toronto ahead of 2026 Concacaf W Championship, with 2027 World Cup and 2028 Olympic qualification at stake.

Canada Soccer has announced that Canada’s Women’s National Team (CANWNT) will return home this fall for a pair of international matches against Denmark during the October FIFA international window. Canada will host the Danes on Friday 9 October at Stade Saputo in Montréal at 7:00 p.m. ET in a special Pride Celebration Match presented by Volkswagen, before closing out the window at BMO Field in Toronto on Monday 12 October at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The October matches will serve as Canada’s final opportunity to prepare for the 2026 Concacaf W Championship in November, where Concacaf nations will compete for qualification to both the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027™ and the LA28 Olympic Games.

“Playing a team like Denmark gives us a really good opportunity to test ourselves and put the final pieces in place ahead of the Concacaf W Championship. It’s also a great chance to face a very good European opponent. Denmark is a very organized team with some great offensive threats, so we know these will be two really competitive matches. It’s also been more than a year since we’ve played at home, and we’re really looking forward to reconnecting with our supporters in Montréal and Toronto and having them behind us as we build momentum heading into qualifying.”

- Casey Stoney, Head Coach, Canada Soccer Women’s National Team

Canada will return to home soil for the first time since June 2025, when the team hosted Haiti in a pair of international matches in Montréal and Winnipeg, including a special Celebration Match honouring Winnipeg native Desiree Scott and her extraordinary international career.

Canada and Denmark have faced each other six times at the Women’s “A” international level, with their first meeting dating back to June 1995. Ranked ninth in the FIFA Women’s World Ranking, Canada holds a 3W-0D-3L record against the 12th-ranked Danes. The two sides last met in the group stage of the 2017 Algarve Cup in Portugal, where Canada earned a 1-0 victory.
